A burger might seem like a glorified sandwich however, it is anything but. The burger requires careful construction and a delicate balance of elements such that it’s satisfaction guaranteed in every bite. A toasty bun, crisp lettuce and a juicy patty are all but building blocks of a truly fantastic burger.
After all, there is nothing like chomping down on a burger after an intense spinning class. Not all burgers are created equal and these 12 mouthwatering burger deliveries have found that tasty sweet spot and are worth all the calories.
1. Three Buns
I’m not one usually for spin-offs but seeing as Three Buns is born out of all the good stuff of Potato Head, it has to be good. At Three Buns you can find the same great selection of burgers that will require you to leave your diet at the door.
At Three Buns, it’s a go big or go home affair. Sure, the Cheeky Chic (Spicy) ($16) would satisfy, with succulent twice-cooked free-range Sakura boneless chicken thick slathered with den miso mayo, Big Poppa’s hot sauce BBQ ketchup—a solid choice indeed.
For the adventurous, I’d reckon the Four Floors ($24) would make the night an unforgettable one. Stacked high with two chunky patties of Tasmanian vintage beef patties, stuffed with fried onions and overflowing with so much cheddar cheese you could shed a tear.

2. MeatSmith
The guys behind MeatSmith are the same folks that opened the award-winning Burnt Ends, so there’s no doubt the food is top-notch here. Not to mention, for those who speak barbecue you’re in luck.
MeathSmith is all about that American barbecue, so think brisket, ribs and pastrami for starters. These meats are prepared low and slow in their smokers so the flavours have all that time to develop.
Hold on, it gets better. These fantastic meats are then transformed into mouthwatering burgers that will leave you wanting seconds.
One that is not be missed has to be Pastrami Sandwich ($22). With tender, salty pastrami slices tempered with sharp sauerkraut and quelled with buttery Emmental cheese. It’s a perfect bite if I do say so myself.

3. Burger & Lobster
You remember the frenzy Burger & Lobster caused when it was announced it would be hitting out shores soon. While the spotlight was on those glorious and buttery Original Lobster Rolls ($28), we need to pay more attention to the other half of Burger & Lobster.
Now, Burger & Lobster has a good selection of burger but one that takes center stage is The Mayfair Burger ($14 ala carte, $20 combo). Named after their first-ever restaurant in London, this magnificent beauty features a Nebraskan beef patty along with the usual suspects of lettuce and tomato before being topped off with B & L’s secret sauce.
Simple and to the point, this burger is simplicity at its best. If you would like to go hamand the B & L Beast Burger ($23) is the best of both worlds with the same Nebraskan beef patty along with succulent chunks of lobster and finished with brie slices. It’s a beast, alright.

7. The Social Outcast
The Social Outcast is anything but its namesake. This popular burger joint is famous for its high-quality woodfire smoked and charcoal-grilled burgers. You would think everything lies in the meat patty and while that is important, how the patty is cooked gives the burger that tiny oomph from a good burger to a great burger.
For meat-lovers that are bonafide carnivores, the Outcast Possible Meats ($23) is sure to satiate that craving. A beautiful mess of a burger, with a thick charcoal-grilled beef patty, paired with gorgeous woodfired smoked lamb chunks—this is a combination you never knew you needed.
Then, it’s carpeted with a liberal amount of chimichurri and cradled between two buttery brioche buns. Sinful and oh-so-indulgent, there are no ragrets here. That combination alone is enough to make anyone forget they ever knew salads.

8. PS. Cafe
You would think aside from the famous (and a little overpriced) truffle fries and brunch fare, PS. Cafe would be done at that but, lo and behold they have another trick up their sleeves.
While there are crowd-pleasers like the Beef & Cheese Burger ($15.40) and Buttermilk Chicken Burger ($14.50) that will promise a good time, I’d say take a walk on the wild side (burger-wise, at least) with the Waikiki Burger ($16.50).
In true Hawaiian fashion, this burger has the quintessential grilled pineapple ring and just to keep things interesting, an espresso mayo to boot.
We can’t go to Hawaii at the moment, but perhaps we can taste it.

9. The Black Hole
The Black Hole is more than just a group, it’s an eclectic co-op of lifestyle brands. Since we are on the topic of burgers it would be remiss not to talk about their burgers which are from one of their brands under them: (working title) Burger Bar.
For the purist, I’d say definitely stick to classics like the Classic Beef ($17.90). A hefty 120-gram patty coupled with a tangy and sprightly beet and onion relish along with the motley crew of burger essentials, it’s a perfect meal if I dare say so myself.

10. Vegan Burg
I know, can a vegan burger ever taste as good as a normal beef burger? At Vegan Burg, they can. Sure, I was sceptical at first. However, that quickly changed once I had a bite of their winning burgers.
Their GMO-free plant protein patties mimic the texture of meat and let me tell you, I wasn’t missing a thing. For first-timer, I would suggest going for one of their best-sellers, the Avocado Beetroot Burger ($11.90). Bright green wedges of avocado lie atop shredded beetroot with a crunchy plant-protein patty. You’ll be floored by the flavour and you feel ten times lighter after chomping down on one of these.
In fact, I would recommend you pair this with some of their Smoked Franks (from $5.90)to make it a complete meal.

Wok in Burger is the playful scion of seafood tze char institution Keng Eng Kee. Though I’m not one for spin-offs of any kind, Wok In Burger promises the taste of tze char in a handy burger.
A burger that is sure to pander to all our salted egg proclivities has to be the Salted Egg Soft Shell Crab Burger ($16.80). It’s everything you need in a single bite: a crispy softshell crab that’s drenched in rich and savoury salted egg sauce, it’s one for salted egg fans.
For ardent fans of Keng Eng Kee, then the Coffee Pork Burger features their signature sticky coffee ribs in a burger—you couldn’t want for anything more.
